To complete this week of discussing the social media, I have just decided to end it with a humorous blog in the form of one of my poems. Often Facebook can be so frustrating to me even though I really enjoy chatting with my 5000 friends around the 71 countries. It is so inspiring and interesting to learn about other people’s lives and cultures. However, as many of you know well, the internet and Facebook do not always work perfectly. Laugh along with me as you read my poem below. Maybe you can identify with some of the problems I have had. If not, then I am very jealous of your good luck and success in using Facebook.
FACEBOOK MADNESS
By Randi D. Ward
Facebook, you have given me so much fun,
But sometimes when my day is over and done,
You have made me feel so extremely lazy
Or often driven me so absolutely crazy.
You used to tell me I typed too fast
And sometimes blocked me in the past.
You told me my friends were being abused,
And this really made me become so amused.
I know you may think I do not need another friend
Because I now have too many messages to send
And way too many chats going on all day long,
But I feel that being online with friends is where I belong.
So why do you try to keep me from chatting so much
And try so hard to prevent me from keeping in touch
With my wonderful friends in many faraway lands.
I am keeping you in business with these typing hands.
What were you thinking when you created the new timeline?
The old Facebook layout was easy to use and just fine,
And a few directions or information when you change everything
Would be so helpful to eliminate problems in using these new things.
Oh well, all of my complaints and concerns will soon go away
Because of my Facebook addiction, I am so sorry to say
I will be here on this social network as long as it lives
Because of all of my friends and the overall pleasure it gives.
